How amazing is Vancouver! We definitely have some of Canada’s most picturesque scenery (OMG, those mountains!) and mild weather that’s just gorgeous all year round, which means it’s the best city in the country for outdoor weddings! Ok, so maybe I’m a little biased, but I seriously think you’ll love these outdoor wedding venues in Vancouver!
If you love the outdoors, the crisp mountain air or wide, open spaces, we have so many amazing wedding venues in Vancouver and the surrounding areas. From inner city parks, private gardens, stunning courtyard spaces and waterfront courtyards, there’s an ideal venue for every couple!
While the winter months can make for a dreamy, snowcapped white wedding in the mountains, spring, summer and autumn are otherwise all great times for outdoor weddings in Vancouver. Our summers are never too hot, but I will say that April and May are particularly gorgeous times for a spring wedding, as all of our gardens will be in full bloom — bliss!
Ready to start planning? Let’s do this! Here are the best outdoor wedding venues in Vancouver and the surrounding area that you’ll absolutely love!!
1. Fraser River Lodge
I can never get enough of Fraser River Lodge! Set just outside the city on 18 acres, this stunning valley delivers dreamy mountain weddings, but with convenient access from Vancouver.
With four ceremony locations and tons of open space, this laid-back wedding venue offers quintessential Canadian charm! I LOVE the vibes here, offering spectacular mountain views, timber log cabin decor and idyllic rolling hills. The light here can often be moody, dramatic and constantly changes, which is just so epic for Fraser River Lodge wedding photography!
It also offers that exciting mountain lodge feeling, with lux accommodation on-site and plenty of fun activities for your guests like hiking, fishing or yoga. Oh, and they also have a bison sanctuary — how cool is that?
2. UBC Boathouse
The UBC Boathouse is easily one of the best places for an outdoor wedding ceremony in Vancouver. Set along the banks of the Fraser River and part of the University of British Columbia (hence the UBC!), this fully floating venue allows you to say your vows right on the water — think white, clean lines, minimalist vibes and a very modern and inviting style that you and your guests will love.
There are both outdoor and indoor spaces, but the indoor reception venue has floor-to-ceiling windows and natural light just streams in! UBC Boathouse caters to weddings really well too, with packages that include everything you need.
3. Hycroft Manor
Ok, I know what you’re thinking — where in Vancouver can I find an outdoor venue that seriously delivers on the romance? If you’re all about a romantic wedding where a European fairy tale meets The Secret Garden, check out Hycroft Manor.
Hycroft is a stunning mansion from the Edwardian era, completed in 1911, complete with a ballroom, vaulted ceilings and a soaring courtyard with stone columns that makes for a dream outdoor ceremony site.
The magnificent home, now owned by the University Women’s Club of Vancouver, is just as famous for its awe-inspiring gardens. With a formal rose garden, ivy-covered walls, a solarium and a romantic juliet balcony, Hycroft Manor weddings will seriously impress!
4. Golden Eagle Golf Club
Golden Eagle Golf Club, less than an hour from Vancouver, is one of the top outdoor wedding venues in BC! Because they specialize in weddings, the club’s all-inclusive packages make it super easy to plan everything for your gorgeous day.
You’ll definitely get gorgeous views here, including the mountains, towering fir trees and the beautiful golf course — but one of the super cool things here is that you can arrive for your ceremony via helicopter!!! Jet off pre-ceremony to a private spot in the mountains at Widgeon Lake for a totally unique photo shoot! It’s also such a special opportunity to get some quality alone time before your wedding celebrations kick off!
5. Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden
One of the most unique garden wedding venues in Vancouver is Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden. It’s one of the first classical Chinese gardens to be built outside of China and is now a place of cultural importance, but it also hosts weddings!
Right in the heart of the city, an outdoor wedding here is just SO magical. For small weddings, the Jade Water Pavilion is a great choice, featuring a gorgeous pagoda with intricate latticework framing and a serene lilypond–incredible!
However, they have multiple indoor and outdoor spaces for large groups too!
6. Maan Farms
How about a romantic, country-chic wedding at a gorgeous winery? In that case, check out Maan Farms, a seasonal venue in Abbotsford. This family-owned winery and farm is just so idyllic, offering a romantic ceremony spot overlooking the Fraser Valley with sweeping mountain views.
For an indoor reception, there’s a charming rustic barn that’s been beautifully restored with fairy lights and wooden paneling where you can boogie the night away! But there are still plenty of outdoor spaces for you and your guests to enjoy and some really cool photo locations, including a gazebo, corn fields and cute garden spaces.
7. Sea to Sky Gondola
Squamish is only an hour from Vancouver, but believe me, it’s worth the drive to see the Sea to Sky Gondola. This is easily one of the most unique wedding venues in Vancouver because it’s literally at the top of a mountain!
You and your guests will ride the gondola to the top of Sea to Sky, taking in soaring mountain and water views as you climb higher and higher. At the top, you’ll find private outdoor locations for your ceremony followed by a huge deck and indoor/outdoor space where you can dance the night away!
The beautifully golden mountain light and the venue’s dramatic suspension bridge are also ideal for early evening wedding photos. For couples who love the mountains and the outdoors, this is a venue seriously worth visiting.
8. Stanley Park Pavilion
Stanley Park is one of the city’s most iconic locations, so a wedding in Stanley Park Pavilion is such a perfect venue for couples who can’t get enough of their beautiful city!
Built in 1911, the Pavilion is the oldest remaining building within the park and has a wonderful, nostalgic and heritage feel to it. You can say your vows outdoors on the lawn along with several reception spots. In the late afternoon, we’ll get stunning light here, with the park’s rose gardens just a short stroll away — an ideal backdrop for your couples’ photography!
OH, and the rose gardens would also make for a dreamy spot to do your first look if that’s something you want to include in your day!
9. VanDusen Botanical Garden and Bloedel Conservatory
Both the VanDusen Botanical Garden and the Bloedel Conservatory are amazing places for outdoor weddings! Bloedel is a unique geodesic dome greenhouse within Queen Elizabeth Park, home to incredible birdlife and tropical plants. Plus, bonus — being a greenhouse, it’s warm all year, so an awesome option for winter or early spring weddings. Score!
VanDusen has gorgeous spots for an outdoor ceremony, ideal for couples looking for those classic and traditional garden wedding photos. You can say your vows under a gorgeous weeping willow tree and there’s a lovely pond too!
The gardens really shine in spring, with everything in bloom and we’ll get those vibrant pops of color for your wedding photos.
10. Brock House Restaurant
You NEED to check out Brock House! This oceanfront restaurant has one of the best outdoor ceremony locations, right on the water, with mountain views in the background. It’s famous for its ceremony location, but the restaurant itself is pretty unique too.
It’s a Tudor-style building that looks straight out of England and is a former privately owned home, dating back to 1912. Now owned by the City of Vancouver, the venue specializes in weddings, with a chic white garden tent option that’s perfect for an outdoor reception.
Between the well-kept gardens, the ocean views, and Brock House itself, there are plenty of places to take gorgeous wedding pics — especially at sunset! It’s one of my top Vancouver wedding venues as it offers character, views and amazing hospitality!
WOW! I am seriously already imagining the epic wedding photos we can take at these venues! A word of warning though — Vancouver is a mega-popular wedding destination, especially in the warmer months. Many outdoor wedding venues in Vancouver can get booked over a year in advance, so definitely plan ahead as much as you can!
